Tower of the Sun Osaka 太陽の塔大阪 Documentary

Fay, Hiroshi-Kun and the Future Vision Amsterdam team take a day trip to Tarō Okamoto's Tower of The Sun. Since its creation for the Expo '70 this huge sculpture has become an icon of Osaka with t-shirts, figures, cartoons, music and 3D printed models. It currently stands in the Expo Commemoration Park and this year marks its 45th anniversary! Fay discusses the tower's history, significance and we get to see a mind-blowing projection mapping show on the Tower of the Sun.

He has a wide range of beloved characters including Pop-Idol Sarah (and her amazing hair), the Heroine Little Red Riding Hood, Majo the witch, Mrs. Matilda and many more. We caught up with Ryo to talk about his current projects and work philosophy at Nishinomiya Art Gardens, where NHK annually feature some of Japan's hottest animators in an exciting exhibition and playground for kids and animation lovers.
